Digital Learning Resources

The State Board of Education approved digital learning resources to support the Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. Districts had to opt-in for students to participate in the program. For login information, please see your child's teacher or an administrator. 

  • Newsela: English Language Arts (6th-12th)
    Newsela provides content specifically to enhance, engage, and extend the English Language Arts standards. 

  • Imagine Learning: Math (6th-8th)  
    Imagine Math and Math Facts builds problem-solving skills, provides personalized learning, and includes online math help.
     
  • News-O-Matic: Social Studies (6th-8th)  
    This news site publishes daily articles which include numerous multimedia features to help keep students engaged.
     
  • Discovery Education: Science (6th)  
    Students can take virtual field trips, conduct STEM activities, or listen to podcasts using Discovery Education. 
     
  • Gale Science: Science (7th-12th)  
    Gale includes interactive labels for biology, chemistry, and human anatomy along with Lexile-leveled articles and multimedia content.
     
  • Paper Tutoring (6th-12th)  
    Paper provides free, unlimited access to trained tutors in math and English Language Arts. This allows students the ability to ask questions, work through problems, and grow confidence in their academic success.

  • GreatMinds (6th-12th)
    Knowledge-building resources from Eureka Math® and English language arts curriculum Wit & Wisdom®. Customized by grade and module, these consistent and coherent video lessons, delivered by experienced teachers, are viewable on any device. Coordinating activities are also available with each module.

  • Khan Academy (6th-12th) bilingual
    Offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. English Language Arts

  • Find a Book (6th-12th)
    Find a Book is a book search that connects students with books based on their reading levels and interests.
Mathematics

  • Algebra Nation (6th-12th)
    Free, digital access to 5,000+ engaging videos as well as digital practice problems available to all students in middle and high school. Free tutoring is available from 2 - 8pm CT every night on the Algebra Student Wall. Families and students can access Algebra Nation for free online and on all iOS/Android mobile devices. Contact your school to get your child's login information.
  • Desmos (6th-12th)
    Desmos is a free extremely user-friendly, online graphing calculator that students can use to graph functions, plot data, and evaluate equations. The site also includes math examples and even creative art—so students can get the most out of the calculator.
  • Geometry 3-D Shapes Interactive (9th-12th)
    The Annenberg Learner: Geometry 3-D Shapes Interactive is a free learning website where students can learn about solids or three-dimensional geometric shapes and the academic vocabulary used to describe them. Additionally, students can learn how to calculate surface area, volume, and explore the mathematical properties of 3-D figures.
Science

  • CODE.org (K-12th)
    This site introduces students to this growing field by engaging videos, introductory tutorials, and quick courses. CODE.org also offers a full curriculum that starts at the beginner level on to the more rigorous advanced placement level.
  • Wonderstruck (6th-12th)  
    Tune in every Saturday to the BBC American channel to experience nature and it was intended to be experienced.  See various species of plants and animals in the natural habitats navigating the lands, the skies, and the oceans of planet Earth.
Social Studies

  • iCivics (6th-12th)
    iCivics provides engaging civics education through online games, which transform abstract concepts like voting into real-life problems.
  • Mission US (10th) 
    Mission US is a multimedia project featuring free interactive adventure games set in different eras of U.S. history.
ACT Resources
